Sun, Arise!, a square print
Soft, sculptural Magnolia grandiflora petals unfold to embrace the coming spring in this gilded mini, inspired by my recent visit to the worlds oldest botanic garden, Orto Botanico di Padova in Italy.
Since they evolved 95 million years ago, magnolias have sung the arrival of spring, opening their flowers adorning the world with their delicate beauty for just a few weeks before making way for woodland trees to open their buds. Like hellebores, bluebells, and trilliums, they are spring ephemerals, a symbol of renewal and the magic in vulnerability.
This painting is a sister to An Invocation, available HERE as a print.
This artwork is printed on high quality cotton paper with gorgeous archival pigments that will last a lifetime. Colours are carefully adjusted to reflect the colours of the original gilded painting. Each print is hand signed and editioned by the artist.
All sizes include a 2” border. Looking for framing inspiration? Check out our framing guide.
