WELCOME TO MY STUDIO
I'm Gillian, a self-taught oil painter living in Toronto, Canada.
My paintings are inspired by nature's magic, featuring lush plants and slumbering animals set in golden light. I hope their rich colours and dreamy compositions give you a feeling of rest and indulgence.
Golden Hour and Ephemeral are my first two art collections. They mark a definitive moment in my life and is an ode to the animals and plants that spark magic in the natural world.
My paintings are inspired by the mystical glow of golden hour, the unhurried wandering of wood grain, the lushness of feminine flowers and broad green leaves, and the inviting rumble of purring cats.
Each invites the decadence and leisure of figures in Art Nouveau, the dreamy warmth of Klimt's Golden Phase, and Pre-Raphaelite dream scenes.
Colours, textures, and metals have been selected to evoke the warmth and energy of spring renewal or a summer night in paradise.
